Some miscellaneous points updates and observations:
- It’s official. We have Shade of Aran on farm. Somehow we just got this fight. We didn’t try anything different. We just somehow got it. This was perhaps the greatest achievement of the last week. Prince is just business. He has some tokens we’d like to have. But Shade…that was personal.
- We finally downed Prince Malchezaar. As Keredria observed I’m a bit sad about it actually.
- We tried Nightbane a few times after downing Prince since we still had some time left on our flasks. Ouch.
- I finally picked up Moroes’ Lucky Pocket Watch. Nice. This boosts my dodge to over 25%.
- I need to work more on an aggro/dps gear set. As my gear has improved my increased avoidance/mitigation has led to more rage starvation, particularly on trash. Also I do a bit of off-tanking. Things like Moroes’ Lucky Pocket Watch may have to stay in the pack except for bosses.
- I need to work more on threat generation. Our DPS is generating quite a bit more threat compared to when we first entered Karazhan. Actually Prince taught me quite a bit about improving my rotation. Of course he makes me pretty mad which helps.
Now it’s time to get tons of badges, more gear. You do have the rage building talent in the arms spec, I wanna say anger management offhand, it helped me alot in my opinion. Just a suggestion.
Lucky you after something like 8000 runs in kara, I never got my pocket watch.
You should grab the badge bracers… only 35 badges and they will last until BT… for your level of progression your expertise and hit seem solid, but your Block Value seems lacking.
Try to get Maiden’s gloves, they are better than T4.
If i were in you position i would drop avoidance in favor of threat stats or EH. There’s a lot of badge loot you could use. The chest is great for pure tanking stats, and the legs, belts, bracers and gloves provide a lot of threat stats.
Grats on getting the Pocket Watch!
)
Our guild have never really had any problems downing Shade of Aran. Prince Malchezaar on the other hand…we’ve tried him now for a few weeks and *argh* still haven’t managed to get him further down than to ~30%. There’s a guy who eats his spinach alright…
I’m currently saving up badges to buy the Chestplate of Stoicism. Twenty more to go, whooo me! Where my guild is currently standing I think that will last me a long time, I don’t see any raids yeilding me a better one than that in the near future.
(Not sure why I’m telling you this, I guess I’m just excited about getting a great upgrade. :p)
Thanks for posting, I enjoy reading your blog!

@theriver and Anglachel. Thx for the suggestions. I’ll grab those gloves from Maiden next time they drop. They’ve dropped for us before but I was on my mage.
I wish I had the badges to spend but I too am still saving up or that Chestplate of Stoicism.
I do have some issues on rage starvation on trash mobs in kara. I can give you 2 advices about that:
1- Tank more mobs – If you keep 2 or 3 mobs on you, you wont get starved, for sure.
2- Use a slow weapon for low rage situations. I use a fist weapon from ZA, ( Rage ), for low rage encounters, and a Sword ( Akil´zon Talonblade ) for high rage encounters. IMO This blade is the best tanking/threat weapon i´ve seen so far.
This might help you. Another advice: Get the Bracers from Badge vendor ( Phalanx thing), expertise rocks.
About the other post, of your shoulders, haha, I´m killing Jan’Alai on a weekly basis, and still wearing Gladiator´s Plate Shoulders /cry
Good luck, and safe travels…
